Arizona Study Program
General Information
The Arizona Study Program is a twelve year graded course of study developed by the ASMTA to provide for
the development of musical Performance, Theory and Technique. It is organized in terms of the twelve years
of public school, with one level for each of the years a student would be enrolled in school. It requires continual
work throughout the year and is evaluated in the Spring by a master adjudicator and a written theory test.

Packet 1 (Yearbook): General Information Letter, Enrollment Form, Program Form and Materials Order Form
Provided to every member enrolled in Arizona Study Program:

DEADLINES:
November 1:
Enrollment deadline $15 per student. A $5 late fee is added after Nov. 1.
February 15:
Student Program Form(s) due (Levels 5 - 12)
End of late enrollment
Send Level 12 student’s address and all records (years, levels, teachers) to Local
Chairman (A level 12 student may take the theory test anytime after January 1.)
Complete and return both copies of the Confidential Report Form to your Local
Chairman by the designated date.
ENROLLMENT:
• Send one check for your class (teacher’s check only).
• Complete and return the Enrollment Form to your Local Chairman.
• Copy additional Enrollment Forms if necessary.
• NO REFUNDS OR SUBSTITUTIONS
• Indicate previous teacher(s) of all transfer students if students were previously in ASP.
• Levels may be repeated and/or skipped at the teacher’s discretion.
• A student may be enrolled in different levels for performance/technique and theory. The performance
level will determine the time allotment for evaluation. Records will show completion of the lower of the
two levels.
• Theory must be brought up to performance level within two years. Please indicate the different levels on
all forms and name tag.
• Notify Local Chairman in writing of any students dropped or any changes in program, level or category.
• A teacher may request a specific time and/or day for evaluation only if absolutely necessary. These requests are not guaranteed, and can only be granted if scheduling allows.
Instructions for Evaluations, Confidential Report Form, Parent/Student Letter, Student Evaluation Forms, and
Name Tags will be sent to you in March.
